MACo 2013 Winter Conference Session – 2013 General Assembly Forecast

Description Although the State’s fiscal situation has improved, budget and revenue issues will continue to weigh heavily during the 2013 Session as the Governor and General Assembly work to close the remaining structural deficit and focus on job creation incentives. Counties hope that the brighter revenue picture will ease financial burdens and cost shifts of prior years. In addition, counties hope to see relief from future policy mandates with respect to the environment and planning and zoning.  In this session, the Speaker of the House of Delegates, the Senate’s budget leader, an opposition party leader, and the Governor’s Chief Legislative Officer will share their views on these issues and more.

Speakers:

  1. The Honorable Michael E. Busch, Speaker of the House
  2. The Honorable Anthony J. O’Donnell, House Minority Leader
  3. The Honorable Edward J. Kasemeyer, Chair, Senate Budget and Taxation Committee
