Benecon’s Public Sector Division specializes in creating health insurance purchasing cooperatives for municipalities, authorities, regional municipal entities, and School Districts. This unique intergovernmental risk sharing concept has achieved success in reducing health insurance costs for thousands of local government employees and employers.

Benecon also works in partnership with the Cigna and the Local Government Insurance Trust (LGIT) on the Maryland Local Government Health Cooperative.  The Health Cooperative program provides local governments with an alternative to self insuring or purchasing health insurance.
