Moore, Howard to Face Off For Cecil Executive

In yesterday’s primaries, two crowded fields of challengers sought the newly created position of County Executive, and have yielded two familiar candidates for the position in the general election. See coverage from the Cecil Whig below:

Commissioner Tari Moore “Runs Away” With Nomination

“I’m very happy,” said a jubilant Moore, as the last precinct votes came in.

“For our campaign, this was all about getting the word out about my qualifications for the position of county executive and running a positive race with integrity,” she said. “That’s what we did. But, it wouldn’t have happened without the help and encouragement of many people and the validation of those who voted for me. I’m very honored to have earned their support.”

“I want to sincerely thank the people of Cecil County, and my wonderful family and friends for all your prayers, support, and encouragement,” Moore said.

Former Treasurer Pam Howard Wins Democratic Nod

Howard, who previously served as county treasurer from 1999 to 2011, thanked her supporters for spreading the word about her campaign.

“I think they were voting for my experience and their trust in me,” she added. “I was lucky to run against two great candidates in Robert and Winston, who were absolute gentlemen on the campaign trail.”
