The St. Mary’s Board of County Commissioners announced today that Phil Shire has been selected to serve as the county’s Director of Land Use & Growth Management.
Shire brings to the position over three decades of experience in local government. He previously served as the caretaker of the St. Clement’s Island Museum, inspector for zoning, construction, erosion and sediment control to LUGM’s Deputy Director, and as Acting Director.
Board President and MACo Board Member Jack Russell stated:
Phil has served admirably as acting Land Use and Growth Management Director. After an exhaustive search and two rounds of interviews, it became quite apparent that Phil was the best qualified person to permanently fill the position.”
