Friday, January 6, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

While Maryland’s public schools continue to receive national recognition and praise, many educational challenges still remain. Student attendance, graduation rates, and achievement remain key concerns. To address these concerns, flexibility and the ability to integrate innovative alternatives into our educational system are vital.  Panelists will discuss the use of charter schools; Science, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM) education programs; and the use of results-oriented performance measures for teachers and school systems.

Speakers include:
(1) Van R. Reiner, President and Chief Executive Officer, Maryland Science Center
(2) David Borinsky, Board Chair, Maryland Charter School Network
(3) TBA
