Baltimore City Councilmember Helen Holton Elected to Regional Leadership Role

At the National Association of Counties’ annual conference last week, Baltimore City Councilmember Helen Holton was elected to serve as the 2nd Vice President of the Northeast Counties Caucus, a regional arm of NACo designed to promote coordination among the northeastern states and their county representatives.

Two other Maryland officials, Carroll County Commission President Julia Gouge and Calvert County Commission President Wilson Parran, were selected to serve on the NECC Board of Directors. The regional body will meet regularly to raise issues and concerns from the northeast region, in advance of and in response to topics raised through NACo. County officials are welcome to contact any of these regional representatives (or the MACo staff) with issues related to Maryland counties and regional or federal relationships.
