A central feature of the conference is counties’ ability to meet directly with their congressional delegations on Capitol Hill. These meetings allow county officials to elevate local perspectives, share on-the-ground impacts of federal policy, and advocate for county priorities in a coordinated and informed manner.

To support effective advocacy, NACo encourages conference attendees to complete a Hill meeting coordination form as they schedule their congressional visits. By understanding which offices counties plan to meet with and the issues they intend to raise, NACo can provide tailored background materials, talking points, and strategic guidance to help counties prepare for productive conversations.

As federal policy debates continue to shape local budgets, infrastructure, workforce programs, and public services, the NACo Legislative Conference remains a key forum for counties to strengthen relationships, align advocacy efforts, and ensure local voices are heard at the national level.
