The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities has announced the launch of the Easy Travel Access (ETA) Rides-On-Demand Program, a
new initiative designed to enhance transportation options for older adults (aged 55 and above) and adults (18-54) with disabilities residing in the county.
The ETA program offers two convenient and cost-effective transportation solutions. The Taxi Voucher Program provides discounted taxi fares with participating cab companies. The Rides-On-Demand Program is a door-to-door ridesharing service that operates throughout the county and extends up to 20 miles outside county boundaries. Both programs offer on-demand transportation, allowing residents to travel independently at a reduced cost.
The ETA Rides-On-Demand program is specifically designed for residents aged 55 and over and individuals with disabilities who are unable to use traditional public transportation. This same-day service requires a minimum of two hours’ notice and features professional drivers operating appropriately equipped cars, vans, or SUVs. Clients are picked up at their desired location and transported directly to their destination. Return trips can be easily scheduled upon request. Service is provided from the first exterior door of a client’s home or pickup location to the first exterior door of their destination.
To be eligible for the ETA program, applicants must:
- Submit an ETA Program application
- Provide a copy of their Maryland State-issued Driver’s License or MD State Identification Card demonstrating residency within Anne Arundel County
- Applicants aged 18-54 must also provide proof of Social Security Disability Insurance or a completed Disability Verification form
