Prince George’s Appoints Valerie Farrar as Acting HR Director

Prince George’s County has announced the appointment of Ms. Valerie A. Farrar as the Acting Director of the Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM).
With more than 25 years of extensive human resources experience and deep institutional knowledge, Ms. Farrar is well-prepared to lead OHRM.
“We are excited to appoint Ms. Farrar to the role of Acting Director of our Office of Human Resources Management,” said Acting County Executive Tara H. Jackson. “With more than 25 years of experience, Ms. Farrar brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role. I am confident that she will lead OHRM with integrity and a continued commitment to enhancing the workplace for all Prince George’s County Government employees.”
Previously serving as the Deputy Director of OHRM’s Office of Talent Management and Acquisition, Ms. Farrar played a key role in shaping the County’s talent strategy. Her contributions include advancing critical executive priorities such as reducing time-to-fill, overseeing the Summer Youth Enrichment Program (SYEP), and managing countywide and Engineer Classification and Compensation studies.
