The Maryland Association of
Counties (MACo) is pleased to announce the installation of the 2025 Board of Directors and Officers.
On Thursday evening, December 12, 2024, the Governor of Maryland, Wes Moore, installed the MACo Board of Directors for 2025. The installation took place at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Hotel in Cambridge, Maryland, during the MACo Winter Conference Inaugural Banquet.
“I am deeply honored to be stepping into the role of MACo President.” said Queen Anne’s County Commissioner, Jack Wilson, “This opportunity is a privilege, and I am excited to continue the tradition of collaboration and leadership that MACo represents.”
“This year, I look forward to fostering even stronger collaborations between all of us – whether we come from large or small counties, rural or urban areas, or represent different political perspectives. MACo gives us the unique opportunity to come together, work with our partners at the federal, state, and local levels, and find common ground.”
In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed MACo President shared insights from his journey to becoming president, linking its significance to this year’s conference theme, Anticipate, Adapt, Achieve: Thriving Through Turbulent Times. He emphasized the relevance of the theme not only for the conference but for the year ahead, as Maryland prepares for the upcoming legislative session. The evening was marked by gratitude and a collective sense of readiness for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Sixteen county elected officials make up the MACo Board of Directors. The MACo membership selects these county leaders to serve the Association’s interests, oversee its management and strategic direction, and build and maintain relationships with parties that regularly interact with MACo and counties. The Board works collaboratively with the MACo Legislative Committee, which sets policy positions for the Association and directs its legislative advocacy priorities.
