Governor Wes Moore has appointed Katrina Wiggins as acting administrator of Maryland’s Property Tax Assessment Appeals Boards. Wiggins, whose appointment is pending Senate confirmation during the 2025 legislative session, will oversee the operations of local boards in Maryland’s 23 counties and Baltimore City.
Established in 1973, these boards hear appeals on property tax assessments, local taxes, and credits. The state administrator provides administrative, regulatory, legal, and budgetary support to the boards, promotes uniform rules, and advises taxpayers on their rights to appeal.
Wiggins served on the Prince George’s County Property Tax Assessment Appeals Board and has over 30 years of experience in organizational management, human resources, and compliance. She holds a B.A. and M.S. from American University.
