On October 18th, MDOT will host a hybrid Complete Streets Implementation Training for local governments.
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites counties to join their training for Complete Streets Policy Implementation for Local Jurisdictions on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 8 am – 12 noon at the MDOT Headquarters located at 7201 Corporate Center Drive Hanover, MD. The training will cover:
- Overview of MDOT Complete Streets Policy (What is new in the Policy update, how does it affect local jurisdictions and what are the guiding design principles?)
- Review of Context Driven Toolkit
- Review how the MDOT Complete Streets policy applies to local jurisdictions and potential policy applications that will promote building multimodal infrastructure that promotes the safety of vulnerable roadway users, including: access and utility permits, local public agency projects, implementation of the Pedestrian Safety Action Plan (PSAP), Complete Streets Leadership Academy (CSLA) Pilot Projects and other potential applications.
This will be a hybrid training with 30 in-person seats. In – person seats are first come, first served. Once in- person registration is at capacity, invitees may join virtually using this Teams Link.
