An essential function of Maryland’s county governments is to fund and oversee elections — overseeing polling places and coordinating poll workers every two years. While Primary Election Day is on Tuesday, May 14, mail-in voting is underway, with nearly 120,000 mail-in ballots already returned by Maryland voters.
Registered voters can vote in three ways in the 2024 Presidential primary election: early in person at select locations, mail-in ballot, or in person on election day at their designated polling place.
“It’s never too early for Marylanders to learn about the three ways to vote in this year’s primary election and make a plan to vote,” said State Administrator Jared DeMarinis. “Whether voting early in person, by mail, or at their local polling place on Primary Election Day, I encourage every Marylander to familiarize themselves with the important election deadlines to ensure their voices are heard.”
Three Ways to Vote
Marylanders have three ways to vote in the primary election: in-person early voting, mail-in voting, and in-person voting on Primary Election Day.
