Maryland Ranks Third in Top US Residential Hotspots

New research has revealed America’s top living hotspots, with Maryland taking the third spot.

  • California is revealed to be the best living hotspot in the US
  • Wyoming and Maryland follow in third, respectively
  • Data was obtained by analyzing sources such as the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Justice Statistics

Experts at visiolending.com gathered data from various sources, including the United States Census Bureau and the Bureau of Economic Analysis, to analyze factors such as household debt to income ratio, property crime rate, and unemployment rate. Each factor was awarded a score of 10 to determine the final ranking.

California is first on the list as the nation’s top living hotspot, with a final score of 60.35. The Golden State received a high score of 9.57 for having a low property crime rate, which is just 169 per 100,000 citizens; California’s violent crime rate also proved to be low with a figure of 78.73 per 100,000 people, resulting in a high score of 9.60.

Wyoming claims the second spot on the list, with a final score of 59.50. Wyoming received a high score of 9.76 for the low undergraduate tuition fees, which average at $4,929 for in-state students in public schools. As well as this, only 0.13% of income is spent on healthcare in Wyoming, giving the state a score of 8.70.

In third place is Maryland, with a final score of 59.28. Maryland received the highest possible score of 10 for having a low unemployment rate, just 1.8% of the population. Additionally, the Old Line State spends only 0.06% of its income on groceries, resulting in a score of 8.72.

A spokesperson from visiolending.com has commented: “It’s fascinating to see that the states in the ranking are from various regions of the country, and the insights allow us to see what each one has to offer, from safe communities in California to top-quality education in South Dakota.”

“The range of factors analyzed in the study, including house prices, tuition fees, and unemployment rate, are all critical factors when it comes to quality of life, so it’s useful for citizens of America to see whether their home state has landed in the top ten, or if they would perhaps be beneficial for them to relocate.”
