State Offering Grants for Firefighter Cancer Screening

The Maryland Department of Health has grant funding available for cancer screening tests for fire department employees – local governments and companies may submit applications by January 12.

Under the authority of Health-General Article §§13-4001 – 13-4007, Annotated Code of Maryland and regulated by Maryland COMAR 10.04.08., the Maryland Department of Health has just launched an innovative cancer screening technologies program for firefighters.  This program provides funding opportunities for state fire departments to buy and administer innovative cancer screening tests for their employees–both volunteers and career professionals.

A request for applications (RFA) was released today and we invite fire departments or collaborations of fire departments to apply.  Applicants must register and submit their proposals through eMaryland Marketplace (eMMA).  This RFA is listed on eMMA as:

  • RFA- PHPA 2610 MARYLAND PROFESSIONAL AND VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER INNOVATIVE CANCER SCREENING TECHNOLOGIES
