Manages general day-to-day operations of the Association, Board of Directors and Executive Committee (officers), and legislative advocacy. Legislative Affairs Areas: business affairs, health and human services, government liability and courts, housing and community development, and public safety and corrections. Liaison to Administrators, Health, Human Services, Corrections, and Attorneys affiliates. Member of the Local Government Insurance Trust Board of Directors.
Deputy Director - Virginia White

Leads the daily operations of the Association and its staff, contributing to the overall strategic direction of MACo regarding services and resources. Leads the Member Services team by coordinating all events, overall communications, marketing, outreach, and partnership plans. Manages all facets of conferences and events for the Association. Contributes to advocacy campaigns and legislative testimony processes. Liaison to MACo’s Board of Directors, the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance, the National Association of Counties (NACo) Financial Services Center, and NACo’s High Performance Leadership Academy.

Legislative Director - Kevin Kinnally

Leads MACo policy staff in review of legislation to advance county positions. Works with MACo affiliate organizations to develop information helpful to MACo communications and advocacy efforts. Legislative Affairs Areas: state budget and fiscal issues, elections, finance, taxes and revenues, emergency services, pensions, and intergovernmental relations. Liaison to Budget & Finance and Emergency Management affiliates, Elections Officials, Tax Collectors Affinity Group (within MDGFOA), and the Large Counties Coalition Chapter Organization. Hosts the Conduit Street Podcast.
Associate Policy Director - Brianna January

Reviews legislation and contributes to MACo policy advocacy and publications. Legislative Affairs Areas: education, schools and capital facilities, employee benefits and relations, business affairs, and pensions. Liaison to MACo’s Human Resources Affiliate, Women of MACo and Large County Coalition Chapter Organizations, county procurement officers, and education groups (MABE, PSSAM, etc.).

Serves as the hub of office operations by maintaining the facility, managing office/vendor relationships, and coordinating in-house meetings, particularly MACo’s Legislative Committee meetings. Facilitates opportunities for corporate entities to connect with MACo’s members and conference participants. Coordinates and implements partnerships, sponsorships, and exhibit shows.

Manages the Association’s social media channels, website, Conduit Street blog, and e-newsletter. Produces MACo’s Conduit Street Podcast. Coordinates promotional efforts for Corporate Partners and sponsors. Highlights MACo member news and activities. Contributes to MACo’s advocacy campaigns and messaging. Liaison to MACo’s County Communications and PIO group.
Member Services and Events Coordinator - Amanda Grosskrueger

Leads member engagement efforts, working directly with MACo affiliate members to plan their activities and events. Facilitates MACo’s Legislative Committee nomination process and meetings. Coordinates MACo’s one-day events and affiliate retreats.
Research Coordinator - Kim Frock

Facilitates MACo’s information-sharing services through conducting and publishing research on county functions and services. Coordinates MACo’s Salary Survey and Budget and Tax Rate Book, manages MACo’s statewide appointments process, provides research support for MACo’s advocacy efforts, and tracks legislation. Serves as liaison to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Research Center.
Administrative Assistant - Robbi Brown

Provides administrative support for all MACo activities. Coordinates in-house meetings and member requests for MACo meeting facilities. Manages MACo’s database and conference speaker registration process. Facilitates phone and email inquiries and leads or supports other projects to advance the Association’s work.
