Calvert County recently earned National Accreditation in Parks and Recreation.
Calvert County’s Department of Parks & Recreation recently received accreditation through the National Recreation and Park Association’s (NRPA) Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). This prestigious accreditation is granted to first in class parks departments nationally.

CARPA is the only national accreditation for Parks Departments and is seen as a reliable measure of department quality and community value.
Calvert County started the accreditation process in 2018, and was required to show compliance with 154 recognized standards and document all policies and procedures.
