Affordability and WSSC: Supporting Our Neighbors

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) will host a session on the equity and access to utilities at MACo’s Summer Conference as part of MACo’s Solutions Showcase.

MACo’s 2019 Summer Conference, “Winds of Change,” will take place on August 14-17 at the Roland Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, MD. Nearly 3,000 individuals from across Maryland will gather to discuss advancements and changes being seen at all levels of government, from cybersecurity to Phase III WIP to school funding.

As critical discussions about housing affordability grow throughout the state, water utilities are designing programs to help promote equity and access. Customer affordability is a social justice issue that connects to the broader role of public service. Learn about the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission’s (WSSC) world-class affordability programming, and the balance between social responsibility and the fiscal interests of both the utility and the customer.
