The MD-DE-D.C. Beverage Association, a MACo Gold Corporate Partner, supports efforts to reduce waste in landfills and waterways along with providing community support.
According to an opinion piece in the Washington Times:

We ensure our products can be easily recyclable by producing 100 percent recyclable aluminum, glass and plastic containers, making them among the most recycled consumer products in the world.
We are supporting programs that have been shown to increase recycling and keep reusable materials from ending up in landfills or thrown on the ground as litter.

Projects the beverage industry has worked on:
- The D.C. beverage industry funded public space recycling bins, refurbished playgrounds, and participated in neighborhood beautification projects
- Nationally, the beverage companies provide funding for comprehensive recycling systems
- Nationally, the beverage companies have committed to diverting from landfills 100 percent of waste generated from their U.S. manufacturing and production facilities

Beverage companies include Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Dr Pepper, Canada Dry and others.
