Spotify Playlist Provides the Beats for Life Saving CPR

music-2570389_1920Hands-only CPR can be performed using chest compression timed to the beat of certain songs and Spotify has complied a “Songs to do CPR to” playlist for just that.

From The Baltimore Sun:

The playlist, developed by NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, collects songs that have a tempo between 100 and 120 beats per minute – the perfect pace for lifesaving chest compressions in case you have to perform CPR. It’s part of the hospital’s “hands only CPR” initiative, which seeks to raise awareness that you could save a life using just your hands.

However, CPR is more than just a playlist. Learn how to perform CPR and how to administer Naloxone for an opioid overdose at the MACo Winter Conference. Training sessions will be offered on Wednesday, January 2, and on Thursday, January 3.

The MACo Winter Conference will be held January 2-4, 2019 at the Hyatt in Cambridge, Maryland. This year’s theme is, “Charting the Course.”
