Maryland Senate Congratulates Dr. Dukes on National Community College Leadership

charleneAs announced on the floor of the Senate this week, Dr. Charlene Dukes of Prince George’s County has been elected the Chair of the American Association of Community College Board of Directors.

Dr. Dukes is the first female president of Prince George’s Community College. With more than 44,000 students at 6 locations, Prince George’s Community College offers 200 credit and workforce development and continuing education programs.

The Senate conferred a resolution on Dr. Dukes with sincere congratulations in recognition of her election as Chair of the national association of community colleges. During the floor session, the Senators of Prince George’s County Delegation gathered to congratulate Dr. Dukes.

Dr. Dukes has been active in American Association of Community Colleges for many years. She has also served on the Maryland State Board of Education, and from 2012 through May 2015, she was the president of the Board.
