Queen Anne’s County’s Tourism On the Rise

Tourism in Queen Anne’s County has seen a nearly 4% increase during the first three quarters of this fiscal year. As reported on My Eastern Shore MD:

“We are so pleased the impact of our tourism initiatives continue to increase. From a jobs perspective, there are approximately 1,800 direct, indirect and induced jobs related to tourism in Queen Anne’s County,” said Faith Elliott Rossing, director of Community Affairs.

It is also important to note that this partial year data follows increases of 5.4 percent and 4.5 percent for fiscal years 2014 and 2013, respectively. Queen Anne’s County tourism sales tax revenue for the first three quarters of FY15 was $1,963,869. This represents an increase of 3.9 percent compared to the first three quarters of FY14, according to statistics released by the Maryland Office of Tourism.
