Cecil County to Host First Heroin and Opioid Emergency Task Force Regional Summit

The first regional summit for the Maryland Heroin and Opioid Emergency Task Force will be held from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 17 at the Cecil County Administration Building (200 Chesapeake Blvd, Suite 2100, Elkton, MD 21921). This summit targets Cecil, Harford, Kent and Queen Anne’s counties in the upper shore/north east region of the State, and will allow residents to share their concerns with state and local officials. Subsequent regional summits will be held on the Eastern Shore, in Southern, Western and Central Maryland, as well as in the D.C. Region. Interested parties may register to attend or submit testimony online.

The Maryland Heroin and Opioid Emergency Task Force and the Inter-Agency Coordinating Council, is a Hogan-Rutherford Administration initiative to fight addiction and reduce drug use and drug-related crime in the state.  Lt. Governor Rutherford is leading this initiative which will bring together all stakeholders in order to develop a plan to deal with the state-wide crisis.
