Caroline County Commission Vice President Jeff Ghrist filed to run for election next year for one of three District 36 seats of the House of Delegates.

Ghrist is nearing the end of his second four-year term as a county commissioner. He was first elected in 2006, and re-elected in 2010.

Ghrist said he wanted to publicly thank former fellow Caroline County commissioners Roger Layton and Jack Cole, and current commissioners Larry Porter and Wilbur Levengood.

“Their professional courtesy and strength in leadership has been a tremendous help in accomplishing much of my goals as a commissioner,” Ghrist said.
