MACo’s Social Media Symposium, scheduled for June 6, 2013 and previously covered on the Conduit Street blog, has been granted 2 Elective Credits by the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance.
The Academy is a volunteer program for local government elected officials. It was founded by MACo, the Maryland Municipal League (MML), the Local Government Insurance Trust (LGIT), and the University of Maryland (UMD). The program has two tracks – one for county government and one for municipal government.
The county government track requires students to take 8 core courses (titles and descriptions are available on the UMD School of Public Policy website) and 6 elective courses of each student’s choice. Designated elective courses are offered at MACo, MML, and LGIT events, as advertised.
MACo’s Social Media Symposium is FREE for county elected officials and county staff. Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn more about how to connect and interact with your residents!
