The Maryland Energy Administration is hosting a webinar on energy assurance planning for local jurisdictions.  The webinar will be held on January 29 from 9:30-10:30am.  As described, the webinar will provide local emergency managers in Maryland with training, best practices, and guidance on Local Energy Assurance Planning (LEAP).

June’s derecho storms and Superstorm Sandy emphasize more than ever the need to track the essential services your jurisdiction provides and assess their vulnerability to energy disruption. Local Energy Assurance Planning (LEAP) is key to this effort. However, gathering the information you need to address vulnerabilities to essential services can present significant challenges.

The discussion will cover the general steps of the LEAP process, review the templates involved, and give participants everything they need to start the LEAP process in their jurisdiction.
