Maryland Sets Late April Date for 2016 Primary Elections

A recent Baltimore Sun article notes:

Maryland lawmakers voted Thursday to move the state’s presidential primary contest back three weeks to April 26, 2016.

This change moves the primary election dates to the same days as Delaware, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Rhode Island; and avoids a conflict with Easter, where it would fall (through part of the early voting window) if unchanged. Additional implications to this late primary election date includes complication for the Baltimore City elections and presidential candidates already being named in other states.
