The Maryland Attorney General’s Office has released the 13th edition of its Maryland Public Information Act (PIA) Manual.  The Manual incorporates legislation and court decisions through October 1, 2014, including the recent recodification of the PIA in the new General Provisions Article.  The Manual was last updated in 2011.

Along with detailed coverage of the PIA, the Manual also includes sample request and denial letters, relevant Attorney General Opinions, and a suggested process for responding to PIA requests.
