Prince George’s County Council Member and MACo President Ingrid M. Turner, Esq. has been selected to serve on the Institute for a Healthiest Maryland’s advisory board. Established by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) and the University of Maryland in Baltimore, the Institute works to improve wellness across Maryland.
The Institute for a Healthiest Maryland serves as a major resource for communities, particularly local health departments and community leaders, as part of the state’s “Healthiest Maryland” campaign. The campaign is a statewide movement to transform communities into healthy environments for all, especially recognizing the need to address health disparities. The resources provided by the institute will support local health coalitions in every region of the state to improve Maryland’s health standing on 39 key measures identified in the State Health Improvement Process.
Also appointed to the board were U.S. Congressman Elijah E. Cummings, Maryland Senator Thomas “Mac” Middleton, and Delegate Norman H. Conway.
