Governor Receives National Award for Planning Leadership

Governor Martin O’Malley was recognized by the American Planning Association as the recipient 2012 National Planning Leadership Award for his environmental planning advocacy. The American Planning Association selected O’Malley for his planning accomplishments including: BayStat, AgPrint, GreenPrint, and GrowthPrint programs, as well as the statewide growth plan, PlanMaryland. Secretary of the Department of Planning Richard Hall stated:

“The planning filed at the national level recognizes that Governor O’Malley has focused on a smarter, more sustainable, more energy-efficient approach at a time when some other states have taken a step backward.”
