Officials from the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are holding Public Assistance applicants briefings for areas included under President Obama’s disaster declaration issued for Hurricane Irene. The areas include: Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Charles, Dorchester, Harford, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, St. Mary’s, Talbot, Wicomico, and Worcester counties.
The briefings will help representatives from the state, local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations (not households and individuals) apply for federal disaster assistance to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area affected by Hurricane Irene during the period of August 24 to September 5, 2011.
